Access your Synology on the internet with QuickConnect DSM

QuickConnect and File Sharing - Synology

I just set up 2-factor authentication for logging into my Synology Diskstation. However, now when I try to use my desktop shortcut (i.e. the address is [server name].quickconnect.to) to connect to the NAS via my desktop it no longer works for my regular browser (Google Chrome). The problem arises when I am a remote site, which accidentally has the same subnet range I use on the local nas site at home, so also in a 192.168.1.x range. Synology QuickConnect | OCAU Forums using ds cam via quickconnect to connect to my surveillance station remotely on my mobile. i'm trying to configure port forwarding but i don't think it's working. i know this isn't the most secure method, but it's simple (supposedly) for me. i've set port forwarding on my router to the ip of my synology and port 5000. firewall rule has been created as well. when i untick the enable Synology QuickConnect allows you to access your Synology NAS anytime, anywhere, from any device and browser, without having to set up port forwarding and firewalls.
